Everyone was so well cast, too. What a I liked so much about Paul is that he was more faux intellectual than anything else ...he was clearly getting some of his information wrong (like when he corrected the tour guide).

The Dali scene was amazing, definitely. There's something to be said about movies that make you leave the theatre feeling better. I also hope that Allen has more films like this one up his sleeve.Laurahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08400880202232098855noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6170443308250983581.post-5458623862921858772011-09-04T16:31:47.253-07:002011-09-04T16:31:47.253-07:00Midnight in Paris was one of my favorites over the...Midnight in Paris was one of my favorites over the summer. Allen captured the magic of the city, and delved into history as it may have been during that era. Each character had a profound uniqueness that supported the director's vision, and it was wonderfully done. My take http://livingchandler.com/2011/07/08/movie-review-for-midnight-in-paris-the-time-is-right/Matthew Coateshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13153447544615258617noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6170443308250983581.post-64843370526757200112011-09-04T13:57:07.567-07:002011-09-04T13:57:07.567-07:00I do live this film. Michael Sheen really scored as this intellectual douchebag. That's one the world doesn't need. Some pompous wanker who keeps saying "Well I believe..." There is a downside to being extremely smart and he's that example. My favorite moment involves Gil meeting Salvador Dali as every time Adrien Brody talks about rhino tears, I cracked up. I walked out of that screening with a big smile. It is definitely Woody Allen's best film in many years. I hope he still has some magic left for whatever films he has next in his lifetime.thevoid99https://www.blogger.com/profile/03055459287396592446noreply@blogger.com
